FAQ

Questions we get asked

If yours is not here, ask it on the call. These are the answers we would give anyway.

How much does this cost?

The first conversation is free. After that a build is fixed scope and fixed price, agreed before anyone starts. What moves the number is how tidy your starting point is and how much of the work still needs a person to check it. Maintenance is separate, and covers the same thing consultation does: someone watching for what changes.

How long does it take?

About a week when we can shape something we have built before to fit your business. Longer when it is new, because that includes running it alongside your current way of working before anything switches over.

Do we have to change the software we already use?

No. What we build connects the tools you already have rather than replacing them, and results arrive in the format your team already works in.

What kinds of things do you build?

Most requests land in three shapes: dashboards and reporting, workflows that run themselves, and assistants that handle reading and sorting. Those are where the work usually falls, not a menu — if you can describe what you need, ask.

Will it replace people on our team?

That is not what we build toward. In practice the work that goes away is the part nobody wanted: retyping, chasing, checking the same thing twice. Anything uncertain still comes to a person.

What happens to our information?

Everything runs on accounts registered in your name, not a shared platform. Where a step uses AI we tell you which service and exactly what it sees. We do not keep your files beyond what the work requires, and we will put that in writing.

Are you SOC 2 or HIPAA certified?

No, and we will not imply otherwise. If your work requires formal certification we are not the right firm, and we will say so on the first call.

What if it breaks after you are gone?

We build on widely used, open tools rather than anything only we understand, and document to the standard where another competent developer could pick it up. Everything is in your name, and nothing goes live before it is tested with alerts in place.

Do we own what you build?

Yes, outright. There is no licence to buy and no ongoing fee owed to us to keep using it.

Why would we need maintenance if we own it outright?

You do not have to keep it. But software depends on the other tools it connects to, and those change — an update, a renamed field, a new step in a process. When that happens, something can quietly stop working until someone notices. Maintenance means that is us, not you.

Couldn't we just use AI ourselves?

You could ask AI to draft or summarize something, but it guesses when it is unsure and nothing catches that. We build the checks around it — the rules, the alerts, and a person for anything uncertain. That is what you are paying for.

We are small. Is this worth it for us?

Sometimes not, and we will tell you. The rough threshold is whether one repetitive task takes more than a few hours a week. Below that the honest answer is usually to leave it alone.

Do you work outside Ontario?

Yes. Work is largely remote and we take clients across Canada.

What if we are not sure what we need?

That is what the first conversation is for. Most people arrive knowing something hurts without knowing which part is worth fixing.

Still deciding?

The first conversation costs nothing and you will leave knowing where you stand.
